Home Staging

Home Staging -

Selling your home is a stressful adventure at the best of times.  You want the most money possible for your home and you want it on the market for the fewest days possible.  Just posting the 'for sale' sign on your yard and listing it in MLS may get you visitors but will it meet your goals of more money and fewest days?

Home staging is the process of preparing your home for show / for display so that the visitors coming through can imagine moving in and living there.

De-personalize it
If a retired couple is selling their home and a young couple with no children is touring, they may find it tough to imagine living there if all of the pictures on the walls show granny and grandpa in the home.

Basic fix-its
A coat of paint and some basic fix-its will go along way to helping give a good impression.

Renovations
Many homes need to invest money and renovate before their home can go on the market.  Usually you will get your investment out and more if you do work in the kitchen or bathroom.  Other areas of importance may include the furnace or roof.  You can do the renovations or you can lower your price to include the renovations when you negotiate.

Stage it
Too much furniture or too many things going on in a room will overwhelm everyone who visits.  As a home stager, we will help you decide what furniture and accessories to keep and where to put them.  In many cases, a few pieces of furniture and some clothes are put in storage while the home is on the market so closets and rooms can look bigger during a tour.

No furniture
Renting furniture to stage an empty home can make a huge difference in the presentation, the sale price and how long your home is on the market.  We do have some furniture that we lend our clients for free (pay delivery) and we also work with some rental companies to stage empty homes.
